Word Definition Example
AoE Area of Effect - The area in which the move takes place, where everyone inside of the area will be affected by the ability.
DoT Damage Over Time - Refers to abilities that hurt enemies over an extended period of time rather than instantly.
DPS Damage Per Second - Refers to the total damage a player can put out per second. It's better for this to be higher.
Buff It can refer to one of two things. The first is a stat increase, which means a stat has temporarily been enhanced for a period of time. This results in the buffed player becoming stronger. The other meaning is when a class is 'buffed', which means it was improved by the developer to be made stronger permanently, or at least until further changes are made.
Debuff Refers to when a stat is reduced, which means a stat has been temporarily decreased. This results in the player that has been debuffed becoming weaker.
Nerf Refers to when a class has been 'nerfed', which means it was weakened by the developer to be made weaker permanently, or at least until further changes are made.
Vulture Refers to players that kill other players who are at low health, like a vulture swooping in on weakened prey.
Hitbox Refers to the area in which an attack will hit you. Not to be confused with AoE (Area of Effect), a hitbox is an invisible space that checks if any players are inside of it when its active. If there are players inside of it, then they will be affected by the ability.
Statcheck Refers to when a class can kill a class purely because of their superior DPS (Damage per Second). Even if the other player plays the fight perfectly, the statchecker can win through brainless button mashing.
